SANTA CRUZ -- Water walkers are all the rage these days. Not in the religious sense, mind you. Stand up paddlers, who from a distance look to be walking on water, are increasingly dotting the near-shore waters of Monterey Bay when the ocean is calm.

The 50th National Surfing Championships gets underway at Piha this week, and along with the longboard and shortboard titles the stand up paddleboard crown is also up for grabs.

Punta Sayulita announces that j.k. livin recording artist, Mishka, will perform a special benefit concert on Saturday night, March 12th, following Day 1 of competition at the 2nd Annual Punta Sayulita Longboard & Stand-Up Paddle Classic.
