Seal Beach lifeguards treated nearly 500 victims of stingray hits last year, the largest amount in a decade and making up about a third of the nation’s estimates of stingray treatments. Seal Beach lifeguard captain Joe Bailey gave a report to the city this week, as inquiries of why the number has increased have come to his office.
