The Dale Velzy Surf Classic is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, an event that pays tribute to one of the most extravagant surfer legends around. The Doheny Longboard Surfing Association puts on the event, based on the best tides, swell predictions and the luck of the draw. The event this year takes place on Sept. 26, at Doheny State Beach.
